Senior Commodity Buyer

Nidec Conversion is seeking a Commodity Senior Buyer - PCBA & Semiconductors based in Milan. Role Summary: The Commodity Senior Buyer will report to the Global Procurement Director and oversee procurement and supply chain activities for PCBA and semiconductor components. Responsibilities include ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement, maintaining quality standards, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams, and supporting new product development. Daily Tasks and Main Responsibilities: Develop and implement global procurement strategies to achieve cost reduction, on-time delivery, cash flow, and quality goals. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers. Lead cost reduction initiatives and monitor progress. Conduct commodity reviews and report to management. Analyze market trends and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities. Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions. Coordinate procurement for PCBA and semiconductor components to meet production schedules. Monitor and review supplier performance. Collaborate with quality assurance to resolve quality issues. Support supplier quality audits and corrective actions. Assist engineering and product teams during new product launches, providing input on component selection and availability. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. At least 8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in electronics or semiconductors. Knowledge of PCBA and semiconductor supply chains.
