Deputy Service Manager Data & Process Analysis (Esa/Esrin)

Octagon Professionals is seeking a Deputy Service Manager Data & Process Analysis to support the management of the Data and Process Analytics Service at the European Space Agency (ESA). The selected candidate will be based at ESA / ESRIN in Frascati, Italy, and, together with the Service Manager based in ESA / ESTEC in the Netherlands, will play a vital role in overseeing a team of 5-6 Data & Process Analysts spread across two key ESA establishments: ESTEC (Netherlands) and ESRIN (Italy). These tasks will be performed for all organisational entities in the Directorate of Internal Services (D / HIF). Key Responsibilities : Collecting business requirements / mapping ESA processes and preparing documentation, including: Collecting and analysing business requirements related to process digitalisation and dashboarding needs. Documenting detailed process and reporting requirements, including process flows, data sources, KPIs, and visualization preferences. Documenting the as-is process using standard methodologies (e.g., IDEFO), analyzing issues or gaps concerning expected behavior (value stream mapping, etc.). Collaborating with teams to ensure alignment with organizational reporting standards and guidelines. Data analysis, reporting, and dashboard design and implementation, including: Contributing to defining data and report architecture as per internal processes (including master data maintenance). Building requested reports according to specified requirements, including data access rules. Designing user-friendly and visually appealing reports and dashboards tailored to financial performance metrics. Providing support for deployed reports and dashboards, including updates and enhancements based on evolving business needs. Proposing and implementing effective visual representations of data, ensuring clarity and accuracy in reporting. Testing and data validation, including : Performing rigorous testing to validate the accuracy of report dashboards and data models. Troubleshooting and reporting data-related issues to the Business Responsible. Requirements : 5 years of experience in service management or team leadership roles. Strong background in data and statistical analysis, data modeling, and dashboard design. Advanced proficiency in Power BI (mandatory). Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite, Adobe Acrobat, and collaboration tools like SharePoint, Slack, and MS Teams. Experience in ESA or similar institutional environment. Proven ability to manage stakeholder expectations and project timelines. Strong written and spoken communication skills. Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of the local working language is an asset. Eligible to live and work in the EU. We Offer : Attractive remuneration package.
