Head of Projects

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield to appoint a Head of Projects to lead major capital investment programmes across their operation. This is a high-profile role, sitting as part of the senior leadership team and responsible for delivering complex, business-critical projects across heavy engineering and manufacturing environments. The client will consider both permanent and interim/consultant applicants, depending on experience and availability. You’ll take full accountability for planning, execution, and delivery of a multi-year capex pipeline, leading a team of project managers and engineers to ensure safety, quality, and commercial targets are met. Key responsibilities: Lead the delivery of large-scale capital projects (£10m), from concept through to completion Develop and maintain robust project plans, budgets, and risk registers Engage with internal stakeholders, group-level leadership, and external partners to ensure alignment and delivery Provide leadership and oversight to the internal project team and supply chain Ensure projects meet all HSE, quality, and regulatory standards Drive continuous improvement in project governance and execution Report regularly on progress, risks, and performance to the board What you'll need: Proven experience delivering high-value capital projects in heavy engineering or manufacturing A degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline Formal project management qualifications (e.g. Prince2, APM, PMP) Strong leadership capability with the confidence to engage at all levels A commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving setting with a hands-on approach This is an opportunity to lead meaningful transformation for a well-invested and ambitious organisation with a strong reputation in global markets.
