AWS Solution Architect Location : Manchester (Hybrid, 2-3 Days Per Week) Salary : Up to £100,000 As an AWS Solution Architect, you’ll work directly with customers to define and deliver AWS-based architectures that support their cloud transformation journey. You’ll shape the migration roadmap, define reusable patterns, and provide technical leadership across multi-account AWS estates. You’ll collaborate with development teams to ensure standards are embedded into delivery, optimise deployments through automation, and promote Infrastructure as Code practices. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a security-focused environment—an opportunity to shape cloud journeys that make a national difference. Core Roles & Responsibilities • Lead technical delivery of cloud migration work across a team of AWS Solution Architects • Define and document AWS architectures, patterns, and reference models • Support engineering teams in optimising and automating deployments • Run architectural reviews and ensure well-architected solutions • Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting and incident resolution • Promote adoption of shared services, reusable components, and automation Required Skills & Experience You will have experience in many of the following: • AWS cloud migration and large-scale multi-account architecture • DevOps and CI/CD tooling • AWS security, networking, and automation • Working in Agile environments • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Desirable • AWS Certifications (Associate, Professional, or Specialist) • Scaled Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe) • Experience mentoring junior engineers Ready to shape the next generation of cloud architecture within the National Security & Defese sector?
