Financial Controller

Accountable Recruitment are partnering with an award-winning business based in Merseyside to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a newly created role following a period of extensive growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the MD to shape the future of the business through strategic planning, commercial accounting and sound financial management. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring strong financial governance and performance. Oversee all revenue streams and maintain accurate and reliable financial ledgers. Own the month-end close process, including full P&L and balance sheet reporting. Drive the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Provide strategic insight on pricing, costing, and business performance. Manage banking relationships, funding arrangements, and cash flow forecasting. Liaise with external partners (auditors, insurers, landlords, etc.) to support financial operations. Deliver timely, accurate monthly reporting to the MD, Board, and SLT. Guide business-wide cash, sales, pricing, and cost control strategies. Support budget holders in understanding variances and improving financial performance. Champion robust financial controls and support decision-making across the business. Skills Required: CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified. Strong systems knowledge, with advanced level Excel and experience in system implementation or improvements. Strong commercial background, demonstrating the ability to support and influence decision making. Experience within a multi-company and multi-currency structure.
