Your structural engineering design experience might just make you our new Structural Engineer. This role is suited to a candidate from a structural engineering design background looking for an opportunity to pursue industry-leading designs within a vibrant multi-disciplinary practice. What’s the opportunity? You’ll be working as part of a Leeds-based structural engineering team focused on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK and internationally. This is a technically demanding role suited to creative candidates with an interest or aptitude in computational techniques. We're particularly interested in those who want to be at the forefront of industry developments, such as reducing embodied carbon and exploring modern methods of construction. The ideal candidate will be at Engineer level with experience across a variety of sectors and project types. Your next role: The role of Structural Engineer is varied and responsibilities will include: Working independently and as part of a team to offer creative solutions Supporting the team with calculations, models, reports, and presentations to a high standard, on time and to budget Sharing your work for review and reviewing the work of others for quality assurance Helping foster a culture of delivering excellent work Collaborating with clients and engaging with other internal discipline designers Communicating design decisions clearly to meet the objectives of both the client and the business Contributing to internal technical development Maintaining your continued professional development Actively building and maintaining professional networks Progressing towards chartership Your skills & experience: Experience in building structures design Experience as a structural engineer on major projects Strong design knowledge using British, US and European codes of practice Proficient in common analysis software such as CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS or SAFE, and willing to learn new tools as required A Bachelor’s degree (BEng / BSc) or Master’s degree (MEng / MSc) in a relevant discipline Proactive in working towards Chartership and committed to continued professional development What we offer you: Hybrid working arrangements Competitive salary and benefits including life assurance and income protection 25 days’ holiday per year plus bank holidays, with flexible holiday options Generous company pension scheme Flexible benefits including cycle scheme, dental insurance, optical cover, travel insurance, season ticket loans and corporate discounts Enhanced parenthood leave policies 3pm finish on the last Friday of every month Ongoing commitment to learning and development at every stage of your career Two professional body memberships or subscriptions covered A strong commitment to wellbeing through an employee assistance programme and a range of wellbeing activities A supportive, inclusive environment with regular social and outreach activities
