Senior Finance Professional (Financial Controller / Management Accountant / Senior Accountant) Role Summary Family run business based in Watford area. We’re seeking a driven, hands-on finance specialist to manage end-to-end financial planning and reporting. This pivotal role reports directly to the owners and will: Oversee cash flow, budgeting, forecasting , and financial reporting Establish and maintain robust financial controls and processes Provide strategic insights to support growth and operational efficiency Liaise with external advisors (banks, auditors, tax advisors) Ideally, candidates will hold one of the following titles: Financial Controller , Management Accountant , or Senior Accountant , with strong experience in mid-sized, fast-paced businesses. Key Responsibilities Cash Flow & Treasury Lead monthly cash flow forecasting, proactively monitoring liquidity Manage invoices, payments, banking and cash reconciliations Recommend funding strategies and support working capital planning Budgeting & Forecasting Coordinate with commercial/ops teams to create annual budgets Update reforecasts quarterly, explaining variances and trends Support agile decision-making with scenario modelling Management Reporting & KPI Strategy Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports Analyse and present metrics (margin, ROI, inventory turns, etc.) Advise leadership with clear financial intelligence Financial Control & Compliance Implement tight control and reconciliation schedules Prepare for year-end audit, liaising with external auditors Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and Company Act obligations Why This Role?
