At Thomassen Energy, we’re looking for an HSE Officer who will champion a strong safety culture across our operations, while ensuring full compliance with Dutch law, international standards, and our internal policies. In this role, you’ll take the lead in managing, improving, and executing our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices, contributing directly to the well-being of our people and the success of our energy projects worldwide. From audits and training to hands-on involvement in projects and site operations, your work will have real impact every day. What You'll Do Drive HSE Policy Execution: Maintain, optimize, and implement HSE procedures in line with Thomassen Energy’s systems and (inter)national legislation. Conduct Audits & Risk Assessments: Lead internal audits and ensure risk inventories and evaluations are always up to date. Enforce Compliance: Monitor day-to-day operations in the workshop and on-site to ensure compliance with regulations and permits. Act as Safety Authority: Empowered to stop any activity that violates HSE policy or legislation — in direct consultation with company leadership. Support Projects: Collaborate with project and commercial teams to develop safety plans and manage HSE aspects of customer projects. Promote a Safety Culture: Organize and support awareness campaigns and training initiatives in cooperation with HR. Lead Incident Response: Address unsafe situations, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions. Manage Certifications & Standards: Ensure alignment with SSC, ISO 14001 and other standards. What You’ll Bring Education & Training Bachelor’s degree in an HSE-related field Certified in “Veiligheidskunde” SSC VOL and other relevant (inter)national safety certifications Experience Minimum 2 years of HSE experience in technical environments, including international project exposure Demonstrated success in implementing safety programs and change management initiatives Proficient in Dutch and English (spoken and written) Strong background in auditing and regulatory compliance Skills & Attributes Proactive and initiative-taking mindset Clear and confident communicator Able to lead change and build organizational buy-in Adaptable under pressure and in fast-changing situations Analytical, conscientious, and result-oriented Skilled in presenting, managing conflict, and promoting awareness Why Join Us?
