Software Tester

Job Title: Manual Tester Location: Glasgow (Hybrid/On-site) Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) Salary: £45,000 per annum Duration: 6 months About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and methodical Manual Tester to join our QA team on a fixed-term basis. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through comprehensive manual testing practices. Key Responsibilities Execute manual test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand system functionality and requirements. Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using standard bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA). Perform regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test plans and test reports. Support release cycles by performing testing on different environments. Ensure test coverage across all key areas of the application. Key Skills and Experience Proven experience as a Manual Tester or Quality Assurance Analyst. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies. Experience testing web-based and/or mobile applications. Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Desirable (Not Essential) Experience in Agile/Scrum environments. Basic understanding of automation testing concepts or tools. Knowledge of SQL for data validation.
