Field Service Engineer

The role: As a Power Generation Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of equipment including large diesel generators, dewatering pumps, lighting towers, compressors, and heavy plant used on construction and industrial sites. The work is primarily reactive (currently around 70% breakdowns), with your schedule managed by an in-house planner - typically one job per day to allow for quality-focused service. This is a pure field-based role with no weekend on-call requirement and excellent earning potential through overtime. Requirements: Background working with large diesel generators, heavy plant, construction machinery, compressors, or similar Previous field service experience Recognised engineering qualifications (C&G, NVQ, or HNC in a relevant discipline or time served) Comfortable working autonomously in the field, with a flexible and customer-focused attitude Based around Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, or surrounding areas Package: £35,000 - £43,000 DOE Company van & tools provided £5,000 typical annual overtime earning potential Enhanced pension (7%) 25 days holiday bank holidays Christmas shutdown Private healthcare No on-call requirement Full induction and ongoing training provided
