Skilled Diesel Mechanic

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng Requirements: Diesel Mechanic Trade qualification Minimum 35 years' post-trade experience working with diesel engines and heavy vehicles or equipment Strong knowledge of fault diagnosis and repair procedures Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software A commitment to workplace health and safety practices Valid drivers license Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and air systems Conduct scheduled maintenance and inspections on trucks, heavy vehicles, and machinery Carry out component overhauls, rebuilds, and system upgrades as required Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used Adhere to company safety policies, procedures, and compliance standards Support apprentices and assist in mentoring junior staff when necessary
