Head Canteen Chef

Our client in the facilities management, cleaning and security industry is looking for a Head Canteen Chef in the Delmas area. Purpose of the Job: The company is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Canteen Chef to lead the culinary operations of a busy canteen and catering division. This role is perfect for someone who can deliver high-quality buffet-style meals as well as manage catering for events, finger foods, and platters all while keeping an eye on quality, costs, and team performance. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Matric Certificate (Grade 12) Formal chef qualification (e.g., Diploma in Professional Cookery or equivalent) Minimum of 35 years experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a canteen, industrial kitchen, or catering environment Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP or similar) and kitchen hygiene protocols Solid understanding of food costing, stock control, and kitchen administration Strong cooking and plating skills across hot buffet meals, finger foods, and platters At least 35 years' experience, proven experience leading a kitchen team in a canteen or high-volume catering environment Own reliable transport or the ability to commute to Delmas daily KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational Excellence: Team & Kitchen Management: Financial & Stock Control Apply today and take the next step in your career!
