Job Description
Purpose: To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of all logistics and warehouse functions, including storage and distribution, while meeting customer service standards through the timely and accurate execution of orders. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Monitor and evaluate logistics performance using appropriate KPIs and metrics; develop and refine performance measurement systems as needed. Oversee both internal and external partners to ensure seamless coordination and operational efficiency. Allocate and manage warehouse and logistics staff based on changing business requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (e.g., Technical) to enhance overall operational efficiency. Supervise third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure service delivery aligns with contractual agreements. Assist in tracking, managing, and controlling logistics and warehousing costs. Assist in continuously assessing and optimising, warehousing and distribution models to improve service and reduce costs while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Identify and resolve bottlenecks or unique challenges related to transportation, logistics systems, or customer needs, including cost/benefit analysis to inform decision-making. Assist with negotiating pricing and service levels with storage and transport providers to maximize value. Maintain effective communication with customers to ensure high levels of service and responsiveness to their needs. Stay informed of and ensure compliance with all applicable local regulations impacting logistics and warehousing operations. Oversee accurate system input, scanning, and allocation of stock. Ensure finished goods inventory is accurately tracked in both the system and physically. Maintain warehouse organisation, including the accuracy of stock locations for both raw materials and finished goods. Perform regular reconciliations to ensure physical and system stock are aligned. Ensure accurate and proper documentation and up-to-date filing for all dispatched stock. Ensure all warehouse and logistics processing are conducted accurately. Ensure adherence on 24 hours turn around time on issuing materials on the system. Monitor work in progress (WIP) to ensure all batches are being closed on time. Qualifications BCom Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Additional qualifications or certifications in Supply Chain or Transportation Management will be considered an advantage. Proficient in spoken and written English. Strong IT proficiency, with the ability to effectively use MS Office, warehouse systems, and digital communication tools. Ability to assess and implement appropriate technology (scanning system) to streamline logistics and warehouse operations. Work Experience & Skills Requirements Minimum of 35 years of proven experience in warehouse and logistics operations, ideally including local transport and distribution management. Minimum of 35 years in a similar role. Manufacturing warehouse and logistics experience essential. Solid understanding of supply chain processes, stock control, and order fulfilment. Familiarity with logistics software and warehouse management systems (WMS). Good working knowledge of local transportation and distribution practices, as well as import/export regulations.
