Power BI and Data Analyst Specialist – Stellenbosch, Western Cape

· We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Specialist with at least 2 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. · The ideal candidate will have expertise in Power BI, a solid understanding of SQL or PostgreSQL, and a proactive mindset. · As part of our team, you will work collaboratively to design, develop, and implement data solutions that drive business insights and decision-making. · Qualities of a suitable candidate include the ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, have strong problem-solving skills, and a high standard of communication skills in English or Afrikaans (both verbal and written). Key Responsibilities: · Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to provide actionable business insights. · Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI for analysis. · Write and optimize SQL/PostgreSQL queries for data extraction, aggregation, and transformation. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. · Maintain and optimize existing Power BI reports and datasets for performance and scalability. · Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all reports and dashboards. · Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within reporting workflows. · Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and data visualization technologies. Education & Experience: Required Qualifications: · Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field. · Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Power BI development. · Proficiency in SQL or PostgreSQL for data manipulation and analysis. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. · Excellent communication skills to effectively present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders. · Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals. · A proactive mindset, with a willingness to take initiative and suggest improvements. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) in Power BI. · Knowledge of database management systems and data warehousing concepts. · Familiarity with other BI tools or data visualization platforms. · Experience in Agile or Scrum project methodologies. · Minimum 2 years of work experience in the relevant field. Knowledge of the farming industry would be advantageous but not required.
