Director of Engineering

Key Duties and Responsibilities Develops an engineering operating strategy that is aligned with the property/brand’s business strategy. Develops and manages Engineering budget. Oversees execution of long term preventative maintenance and 10 year asset protection plans. Reviews financial reports and statements to determine how Engineering is performing against budget. Supervises construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines. Ensures compliance with state, local and federal regulations. Maintains property life safety systems (e.g., fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems). Ensures building and equipment licenses, permits and certifications are current. Manages areas of operation to budget by reviewing operating statements, budget worksheets and payroll progress reports. Manages department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of five (5) years’ experience actively serving in engineering management in an ultra luxury hotel/resort environment Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, boilers, swimming pools and spas required Working knowledge of methods & principles of engineering required Must be strategic and have strong business acumen Good communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint ,Outlook, and HotSOS Suitable candidate will be reporting directly to the General Manager At One&Only creating JOY is at the forefront of everything we do.
