Accountant

Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure timely and accurate tax compliance (SAT), and oversee payroll and social security processes (IMSS). The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Mexican tax and labor regulations. Key Responsibilities: General Accounting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with Mexican regulations. Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate monthly closings. Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking. Tax Compliance (SAT): Prepare and file monthly and annual SAT tax declarations (IVA, ISR, DIOT, etc.). Generate electronic accounting files (Contabilidad Electrónica) and ensure compliance with CFDI requirements. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure proper application. IMSS & Payroll Support: Calculate and process IMSS contributions and payroll-related taxes. Register, update, and deregister employees in IMSS systems (IDSE/SUA). Collaborate with HR and payroll vendors to ensure accurate social security reporting. Reporting & Controls: Generate monthly financial reports and support internal and external audits. Assist in budgeting, cash flow analysis, and financial forecasting as needed. Ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and legal obligations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 3 years of experience in accounting roles in Mexico. Must hold a valid professional license(Cédula profesional). Proficient in Mexican tax regulations, SAT reporting, and IMSS procedures. Experience with accounting software (e.g., CONTPAQi , Aspel , QuickBooks , or similar). Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management. Good English level (spoken and written) for cross-functional communication and documentation. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with platforms like SAT Portal, IDSE, SUA, and CFDI validation tools. Experience working with external accountants or tax advisors. Knowledge of payroll processes and employee benefits.
