Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager for a medium sized ENGINEERING Company in Vanderbijlpark to oversee and optimize machining and fabrication operations in our engineering company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing technical processes, ensuring product quality, and leading a team of engineers and technicians to achieve operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all machining and fabrication processes, ensuring efficiency and high-quality output. Develop and implement technical strategies to enhance manufacturing capabilities and productivity. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control measures. Oversee tooling, CNC programming, and process optimization to reduce costs and improve cycle times. Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of components and assemblies. Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies and automation techniques. Project Management & Coordination: Oversee project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams for raw material sourcing and inventory control. Develop and manage maintenance schedules for machines and equipment. Collaborate with customers and vendors to provide technical expertise and problem-solving solutions. Team Leadership & Training: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, machinists, and fabricators to develop their technical skills. Conduct training programs to enhance knowledge of machining techniques, fabrication methods, and equipment handling. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork. Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure all products meet the required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. Implement and maintain ISO, ASME, or other relevant certifications and standards. Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for defects and non-conformities Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree or B Tech in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing or a related field. Minimum 5-10 years of experience in machining, fabrication, and manufacturing industries. Strong knowledge of CNC machining, welding, fabrication techniques, and CAD/CAM software. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, designs and blueprints.
