Civil Engineer

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Previous experience on bridge construction projects Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and site procedures Excellent coordination, communication, and reporting skills Key Responsibilities: Project Oversight Supervise daily construction activities on-site Ensure all work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and procedures Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve site issues Work closely with the Project Engineer to align site execution with design intent and project objectives Quality Assurance Conduct regular inspections and quality audits Identify and report non-conformances, ensuring corrective action is taken Maintain QA/QC records in line with quality control plans Progress Monitoring Track and report on physical and financial project progress Identify delays, disruptions, or cost implications and escalate where necessary Support planning updates and contribute to progress reporting Cost Control Monitor daily use of labour, plant, and materials Assist in validating contractor claims and payment certificates Compare actual and budgeted costs, highlighting variances Ensure accurate quantity take-offs and verification of completed works Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor to maintain cost tracking and forecasting Technical Support Interpret construction drawings and provide technical guidance on-site Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, and materials Coordinate with the Project Engineer on design clarifications and changes Documentation and Reporting Maintain daily site records and photographic documentation Prepare weekly and monthly technical and cost reports Assist with handover documents and as-built drawings Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Participate in toolbox talks and site safety audits
