Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper

A reputable supplier of steam and valve products is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in full bookkeeping functions, possess strong administrative skills, and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a finance team. Key Responsibilities: · Manage full bookkeeping function across multiple entities up to Trial Balance · Perform all relevant financial and account administration · Daily cashbook administration, reconciliations, and cash flow management · Administer and reconcile petty cash · Oversee full debtors function: · Manage full creditors function: · Load supplier and ad hoc payments on banking platform for authorisation · Ensure accuracy and timeliness of foreign payments · Maintain and update foreign payment spreadsheets · Process monthly intercompany invoices · Provide supporting documentation during annual audits · Highlight weak internal controls and recommend improvements to the Financial Manager · Prepare and submit weekly ID facility download reports Requirements: · Diploma or Degree in Accounting · Minimum 5 years experience in a similar financial role · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential · Experience using Syspro (advantageous but not essential) · Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy (non-negotiable) · Excellent organisational and time management skills · Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines · Collaborative team player who aligns with the companys values of Care, Pride, and Trust · Valid drivers license and own transport is essential To apply: Please submit your CV and salary expectations to craig@personastaff.co.za Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
