Job Description
Associate Lecturer - EC2065 Macroeconomics (HE1) Job Description This course covers fundamental principles of macroeconomics at an intermediate level. Topics include the supply side of the economy and economic growth, the demand side of the economy, consumption, investment, fiscal policy, the labour market and unemployment, financial markets, banking, money and monetary policy, business cycles, inflation, and international macroeconomics. By the end of the course, students should be able to analyze and answer key macroeconomic questions, such as: What drives long-term prosperity? Is a growth slowdown in emerging economies inevitable? Why are real interest rates so low? What causes bubbles in financial markets? Does the government face a budget constraint? How does the labour market respond to structural changes? What is the role of banks and their inherent fragility? Should central banks establish digital currencies? Why does economic activity fluctuate? Job Requirements A Ph.D. or Master's Degree in a related discipline from a reputable university. At least 2 years of relevant tertiary teaching experience (preferred). 5 years of relevant work experience is an advantage. Availability to teach during day, night, or both sessions.
