Summary This hybrid role requires a unique combination of data engineering skills, financial domain knowledge, and programming expertise. You will build and manage data pipelines, analyze underwriting data, implement calculation logic, and create comprehensive reports and visualizations to support data-driven decision making. Responsibilities · Design and implement data pipelines for financial and court case data · Manage the entire data lifecycle from ingestion through archiving · Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance · Create data models that support financial reporting requirements · Implement data quality controls to ensure accuracy of financial information · Develop and maintain calculation modules for financial applications · Analyze historical performance data to support the underwriting process · Identify key risk factors and trends in case outcomes · Design and develop comprehensive financial reports · Create interactive visualizations that effectively communicate financial and operational metrics · Implement automated reporting solutions for recurring financial analyses · Document data architectures and technical processes Education and Specific Training: · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Data Science, or related field · 3 years of experience in data analysis or data engineering with financial applications · Strong programming skills with experience in object-oriented design patterns · Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational database management systems · Understanding of data modeling for financial reporting purposes · Understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment methodologies · Experience with financial data modeling and portfolio analysis · Experience with Cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and data pipeline tools (e.g. Airflow) · Experience working with reporting and visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Superset) Note: The role will be expected to work US Time Zone (Eastern) as standard but may be required to change time zones occasionally as projects dictate. Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential.
