Job Title: Team Lead – Azure Data Lake Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Tech Lead to spearhead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale data lake solutions. In this pivotal leadership role, you will manage a cross-functional team of up to 20 engineers , guiding them through complex cloud data platform projects using cutting-edge Microsoft Azure technologies. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business and act as a key decision-maker in driving architectural direction, technical strategy, and best practices. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable Azure-based data lake solutions. Provide deep technical guidance on tools such as Azure Synapse , Databricks , SQL , Power BI , and Fabric/Tableau . Oversee code quality, development standards, and DevOps best practices using Visual Studio , TFS , and Git . Team Management: Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of developers and data engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Support career development and performance management of team members. Project Delivery: Own end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timely execution within budget and scope. Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and enterprise architects in an Agile (SCRUM) environment. Ensure alignment with enterprise data architecture standards and compliance requirements. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for technical discussions with business and IT leadership. Translate business requirements into technical specifications. Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Minimum Qualifications: 5 years of hands-on development experience in Azure Synapse , Databricks , and SQL Server within large-scale enterprise environments. 3 years of experience leading technical teams or managing development teams in Agile environments. Proven experience with SAP BW on HANA and familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) . Strong understanding of data architecture, event-driven design, and data modeling principles. Proficient in Agile methodologies, especially SCRUM . Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Fluent in English (written and spoken). Availability for inclusion in an on-call support rotation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IBM MQ or similar messaging systems. Expertise in performance tuning and optimization in cloud data environments. Familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to modern data platform technologies such as Microsoft Fabric. Familiarity with Alteryx Soft Skills: Proactive and adaptable leader with strong problem-solving skills. Results-driven mindset with a commitment to excellence. Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Demonstrated mentoring and coaching capabilities.
