Head of Artificial Intelligence

Role Overview : The Head of AI will spearhead AI strategy, ensuring the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into Linde’s global operations. This leadership role requires a combination of deep AI expertise, strategic vision, and operational excellence. The AI Head will collaborate across business functions and external partners to drive AI innovation and foster adoption within the company, improving efficiency, productivity, and business outcomes. Key Responsibilities : Strategic Leadership : Define and execute the global AI strategy to align with long-term goals. Collaborate with business leaders to identify AI-driven opportunities and integrate AI technologies across key business functions. Lead AI research and development initiatives to ensure stays at the forefront of AI advancements. Team Leadership & Development : Lead a diverse global team of data scientists, AI engineers, and product developers. Drive talent acquisition, development, and retention, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Ensure the AI team stays updated with emerging technologies and continues to evolve in its technical capabilities. AI Integration & Implementation : Oversee the integration of AI solutions into business processes, including supply chain optimization, predictive maintenance, and product development. Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement AI projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and operational goals. Collaboration & Innovation : Collaborate with external partners, universities, and research institutions to explore cutting-edge AI solutions. Drive the creation of AI products that deliver measurable business value across operations. Commercial & Financial Management : Provide financial oversight for AI projects, ensuring they meet budgets and timelines. Develop business cases, impact assessments, and ROI analyses for AI investments and initiatives. Performance & KPIs : Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of AI initiatives and report progress to senior leadership. Continuously monitor and optimize AI systems to ensure they deliver maximum business value. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. A PhD is a plus. Certifications or specialized training in AI/ML or related areas (e.g., TensorFlow, AWS AI/ML) are advantageous. Experience : 10 years of experience in AI or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position. Proven experience in AI strategy development, implementation, and product development in a large, global organization. Strong financial and business acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis for AI projects. Skills : Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), and AI technologies. Strong understanding of AI applications across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and energy. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to drive collaboration and influence stakeholders across matrixed organizations. Preferred Skills : Experience in AI product commercialization and go-to-market strategies. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and big data technologies. Experience in industrial AI applications, such as predictive maintenance, process optimization, and supply chain management.
