Job Description
Main purpose of job: To assist the Store Management team in the effective operation of the store, to maximise sales and profitability. The coordination of the store team, to ensure excellent customer service is always provided, whilst making sure brilliant store standards are attained. To be a positive role model to the team, ensuring high standards are upheld in the Store Management teams absence. Main Duties Team Management Develop the Teams performance in order to promote high potential colleagues and manage poor performance effectively. Support in the recruitment, training and onboarding of new colleagues. Support the Store Management in promoting positive working relationships both within the Store and across the wider Society. Assist the Store Management team in maintaining the security of the Store, including ensuring that all colleagues are proactive in the prevention of shoplifting. Keep skill set up to date by participating in all mandatory training and e-learning courses. Participate in colleague meetings regarding absence and assist the Store Manager in actively working to reduce instances of sickness. To be an approachable ambassador for the Store Management Team, escalating any potential conflict or issues to the Store or Area Manager when appropriate. Customer Service & Community Assist the Store Manager in the day to day running of the Store, including the opening and closing of the store, and taking control in their absence. Motivate colleagues and ensure that they deliver excellent customer service at all times. To promote customer loyalty and recognition that we are the go-to Store. Make sure that all colleagues actively promote Society membership Financial & Commercial Accountable for assisting the Store Management by controlling labour costs, leakage and wastage within the Store, adhering to budgets, whilst driving sales, commercial awareness and profitability. To be familiar with all offers and promotions and maintain a current product knowledge, include specific category knowledge. Store Standards Make sure that stock is regularly replenished on the shop floor. Assist in serving customers on the till, stock rotation, accurate date checking and stock checks when required. Stock replenishment, including date code checks as per the Society policy, gap checks and general stock management. Assist the store management in ensuring that the Store adheres to all its legal responsibilities as well as the Societys own policies. Ensure that merchandising and store presentation is of the highest standard at all times. Candidate Profile: Qualifications (Desirable) 5 x 9-4 grades at GCSE, or equivalent.
