Engineering workshop Technician £Negotiable plus benefits A permanent opportunity to work for a manufacturing company based in Huntingdon. The purpose of the Engineering Workshop Technician: Working as part of the workshop team you will use your engineering skills and knowledge to manufacture items that meet customer requirements using conventional machine shop equipment and support the wider team with your knowledge. Ideally you will have machine shop experience and or qualifications and would be willing to learn additional skills within the department. Duties for the Engineering Workshop Technician: • Ensure Safety within work area by completing safety checks, following SWPs • Select correct material from stock for finished item • Safely use workshop equipment to produce items for customer orders • Produce finished item to production sheet specifications, minimising wastage to meet customer expectations, using workshop equipment safely • Ability to understand engineering drawings • Inspection of finished items • Accurate completion of documentation and systems for each completed job • Updating stock quantities via internal stock management systems • Confirming and checking order details • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve processes in support of efforts to increase standardisation, reduce costs, reduce cycle times and improve safety Skills and experience for the Engineering Workshop Technician: • Ability to use general workshop equipment such as bandsaw, lathe, vertical mill and guillotines • Engineering / machine shop experience or qualification • Ability to follow verbal and/or written technical instructions. • Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures and general instructions • Attention to detail and quality • Experience of using computer systems • Proactive and positive attitude • Ability to retrieve field information, such as dimensions and angles, without supervision • Strong communication and team working skills Hours of work for the Engineering Workshop Technician: Monday to Friday days 37.5 hour Benefits for the Engineering Workshop Technician: Company Healthcare Company pension (5% company contribution) Company Sick Pay Critical Illness cover and Life Assurance cover 22 days Annual Leave, rising to 25 plus bank holidays A range of employee benefits provided through the client’s insurances provider Free car parking Free tea and coffee and social events during the year For more details please contact Lisa Parsons
