IT Service Engineer

Service Engineer County Durham £28,000 Shift Bonus (4 days on, 4 days off) Full-time, Permanent Careers Plus are working with a well established IT support provider based in County Durham who are looking to hire a Service Engineer to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is keen on working with a variety of different clients and has a passion for solving problems and helping people. Role Overview: As a Service Engineer you'll be responsible for handling escalated technical issues, providing remote and on-site support, and working closely with our 1st Line team to ensure high service standards. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on infrastructure and systems projects. Key Responsibilities: Respond to and resolve support tickets via phone, email, and remote tools Escalate complex issues to 3rd line or vendors when necessary Maintain and support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Windows-based systems Assist in onboarding/offboarding users and managing user accounts Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues Maintain documentation and follow ITIL best practices Participate in ongoing improvement and upgrade projects Requirements: Proven experience in a 2nd line support or similar technical role Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Exchange Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN) Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Please apply to be considered for the opportunity.
