VMWare Engineer- Interim

VMWare Engineer Location: Bracknell, fully onsite Job Type: Interim (8 months initially) Salary: £500 per day via Umbrella Security Clearance: DV vetting required We are seeking a VMWare Engineer to join an established programme team for a large Government account. The role involves building and configuring ESX devices as per build guides within a deployment team. This position requires a professional who can effectively work within a team, manage multiple tasks, and provide reliable support during the rollout of hardware. Day-to-day of the role: Build and configure ESX devices according to specific build guides. Work as part of a deployment team to roll out hardware solutions. Visit customer sites to install hardware within racks. Provide remote support of hardware during customer testing. Regularly update the Project Manager and team lead on progress. Engage with service teams to ensure new hardware is effectively taken into support. Be flexible with work hours as some implementations may occur outside normal working hours due to customer activities. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven track record as an infrastructure engineer in a project environment, building solutions from build guides. Broad technical skills across an enterprise environment, with demonstrated skills in infrastructure management, VMWare/VSphere support, and implementation. Ability to work well within a team and develop positive working relationships with other project teams. Excellent communication skills for interactions with peers, management, and customers. High attention to detail. Experience working for large government customers. Self-starter who can implement solutions with minimal supervision and effectively troubleshoot issues.
