Location: Oxfordshire Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Job Type: Permanent I Full time I Office based Are you an experienced aviation professional with a strong technical background? Our client is looking for a Technical Services Manager to play a crucial role in managing maintenance planning, technical support, and documentation control. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities are scheduled, resourced, and carried out in the most cost-effective and efficient way, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. What You’ll Be Doing: Planning & Documentation: Oversee the creation and management of work cards, maintenance work packs, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with manuals and customer-approved maintenance programmes. Issue and process maintenance work packages, ensuring accurate recording and distribution of maintenance data. Plan and allocate resources, tools, spare parts, and third-party specialists to support scheduled maintenance tasks. Technical & Compliance Support: Act as a key liaison between the customer and maintenance teams, ensuring instructions are clear and all changing requirements are addressed. Support the team with technical queries beyond standard manuals and work towards quick resolutions. Conduct airworthiness directive (AD) reviews to ensure compliance and provide expert guidance on modification options. Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and compliance management alongside the Maintenance and Quality Managers. Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing: Refine and develop processes and workflows to improve efficiency and compliance. Ensure technical data is up-to-date and readily available for maintenance activities. Record technical insights gained from experience to improve processes including capturing and documenting key learnings, and implementing best practices. What We’re Looking For: ✔ Experience & Knowledge Formal technical training with demonstrable direct aircraft maintenance experience. Strong understanding of aircraft operation, systems, and maintenance programmes (including MSG-3 logic). Previous experience in a technical services or planning role (desirable). Commercial awareness of maintenance costs and operational impact. Proficient with maintenance programming systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. ✔ Skills & Attributes Excellent communication skills – able to work effectively with customers and internal teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle technical challenges. Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring work is planned and executed on time. High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance. Skilled in writing technical reports and structured work instructions. Why Join?
