Overview

Step into an executive leadership role overseeing the entire resort financials of The Jewel of the Desert! This Executive Level position will oversee all aspects of the Finance/Accounting Department and work with an amazing team.

The Director of Finance will report to the General Manager and VP of Finance. Will act as a mentor and be very involved with the day-to-day operations of the hotel and the department.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues, as required to management and ownership.
  • Coordinate the completion of all forecasts and budgets as required, with the full and active participation of Executive Team and department managers.
  • Analyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotels’ financial objectives.
  • Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely basis.
  • Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit extension, inventories, assets, master keys, payroll, and records.
  • Direct and/or prepare all financial reports in accordance with the company’s requirements meeting various due dates and deadlines.
  • Ensure hotels’ compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes.

Responsibilities

• A minimum of five years Hotel Accounting experience as Director of Finance in a large luxury resort or hotel. 

• 7-10 years of Director of Finance leading a Finance team.

• The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in either Hospitality or accounting/finance/business.

• CPA and CHAE certification preferred.

• Strong financial acumen including proficiency in forecasting, budget management, analyzing workflows and developing efficiencies.

• Be able to identify, analyze and clearly communicate variances to budget, forecast or prior year in all financial reporting.
• Ability to manage cash flow, balance sheet activity and reconcile accounts monthly.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills that build trust, instill confidence, and motivate others. 

• Ability to lead and develop Finance team members for career growth.
• Possesses a heightened sense of urgency in meeting reporting deadlines, with accuracy and clarity
• Understand how to work with hotel PMS and outlet POS systems.

• Experience with ProfitSage, OnQ PMS system, Book4Time and Agilysis preferred.
• Be able to complete internal self-audits annually to confirm compliance with SOP’s.
• Ability to implement and maintain a system of internal control and segregation of duties in order to protect the property’s assets.
