Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/14/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, evenings, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ED) Location: 3901 Lone Tree Way, Antioch, CA 94509 Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) or Mid (3:00 PM – 3:30 AM), 3 shifts of 12 hours each, with alternating weekends Start Date: ASAP Job Overview: We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department team. This position involves working variable shifts starting between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, covering 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including alternating weekends. The department will strive to maintain consistent shift start times week to week. Qualifications & Requirements: Licensure: Current California RN License Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience Patient Ratio: 1:4 Trauma Experience: Level II trauma experience required Hospital Experience: Community hospital experience required Core Skills and Competencies: Expertise in managing adult and pediatric emergency cases, including: Abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injuries, hyperglycemia, infections Mental and behavioral health conditions, including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, drug overdose, and managing violent behavior Respiratory care: chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation, ventilator management Neurological emergencies including CVA, traumatic brain injuries, ICP monitoring (preferred) IV therapy, blood product administration, arterial and central line care Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management Orthopedic trauma and splinting Psychiatric holds and emergency psychiatric care Work Environment & Unit Details: Patient Age Groups: Neonates through geriatrics Daily Census: Approximately 16 patients Beds: 33 Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, phlebotomy, interpretation services, unit secretary Professional Development: Orientation provided (24 hours) Scheduling: Weekend coverage every other weekend, with flexibility for time off requests Why Join Us?
