Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Job Description Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana, on a Contract to permanent basis. In this role, you will support various HR functions, such as employee record management, recruitment, and compliance, to ensure smooth department operations. Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and other data to ensure seamless payroll processing. • Assist the HR Manager with policy development, recruitment procedures, and salary administration tasks. • Post job openings online, review applications, and coordinate interview schedules. • Organize and facilitate orientation and training programs for new team members. • Manage the HR department’s calendar, including meeting and event coordination. • Ensure compliance with employment laws and labor regulations to maintain organizational standards. • Generate and analyze HR reports to support decision-making processes. • Conduct background checks and verify candidate qualifications during the recruitment process. • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing employee inquiries and concerns. • Support benefits administration and employee engagement initiatives.• Proficiency in HR software such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and HRMS. • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and payroll tools. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting. • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance. • Prior experience conducting background checks and managing benefit functions. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting. • Effective communication and customer service skills to interact with employees and candidates.
