Lead Technical Architect (AWS Security) Remote (occasional travel to London) £90,000 - £100,000 Anson McCade are working with a leading professional services and technology organization, and they are looking for a versatile architect with a strong skill set in cloud-based architectures. Working within their National Security and Defence project teams, they are in-search of an Architect with specialist domain knowledge of public sector institutions such as the MOD. Key Responsibilities of the Lead Technical Architect: Over 8 years of experience designing and implementing large-scale, distributed cloud systems, with a strong emphasis on AWS. Comprehensive expertise in cloud security architecture, including deep knowledge of AWS security best practices (IAM, network security, encryption, etc.). Advanced proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration using Kubernetes in production environments. Demonstrated experience in building event-driven systems, with solid knowledge of queue-based technologies such as Kafka. Strong foundation in microservices architecture with hands-on development experience in Java-based backend systems. Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and automated deployment workflows. Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of mentoring peers and working effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficient in monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) and experienced in implementing cloud cost optimization strategies. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
