Delecta - a fast-growing producer owned exporter is marketing and supplying fresh fruit to leading international and local retailers and wholesalers. The following career opportunity became available in the Paarl Office. CATEGORY MANAGER (Citrus Fruit) We invite a dynamic and experienced candidate with extensive knowledge and experience of managing a fruit category from procurement through to directing the marketing- and export programmes - to apply for this position in our Citrus Fruit division. The candidate will report directly to the Managing Director. Key responsibilities will, amongst others, include: compiling and managing the procurement / marketing plan, budget and strategy diligent driving and pursuing negotiations to ensure optimal Commercial performance to ensure a profitable category effective communication and management of relationships with producers, suppliers, recipients, team members, colleagues and key stakeholders precise and punctual management of information and appropriate administration continuously manage the Citrus Fruit Departments performance to achieve short-, medium- and long-term goals and objectives convert market intelligence, new product development and opportunities towards sustainable growth. Crucial requirements: appropriate tertiary qualification proven experience and commercial footprint in fruit export industry proven track record in managing a highly motivated and productive team effectively ability to manage several projects simultaneously skilled team player, negotiator and communicator (verbal and written) strong managerial and computer skills. The remuneration package will support the requirements and seniority of this position.
