We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Supervisor with a specialization in excavation to join our team for a significant drainage project in Maputo, Mozambique . Responsabilities: As the Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all excavation-related activities on site, ensuring they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and schedules. Your key responsibilities will include: Lead and manage excavation teams, subcontractors, and equipment operators, ensuring adherence to work plans and productivity targets. Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site, conducting regular inspections and promoting a safety-first culture, particularly concerning excavation risks (e.g., trenching, shoring, spoil management). Provide expert guidance on excavation techniques, methodologies, and equipment selection. Ensure correct interpretation of drawings, specifications, and survey data related to earthworks. Monitor and inspect excavation works to ensure quality standards are met, including correct depths, widths, slopes, and compaction. Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, and materials for excavation activities. Track daily progress of excavation works, identify potential delays, and report on performance to the Project Manager. Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other relevant project documentation. Competences: Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor or similar role on large-scale civil infrastructure projects, with a significant focus on excavation works (drainage, pipelines, foundations, etc.) . In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, shoring systems, dewatering, and ground conditions. Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and best practices related to earthmoving and trenching. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and topographical maps. Qualifications: Civil Diploma or Degree, 7 years of experience in excavation works supervision.
