Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Exeter, Devon – Skypark Job type : Permanent Hours : Monday to Friday 08:00am – 16:30pm / 08:30am – 17:00pm Salary: £34,000 - £37,000 per annum Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients team at the Skypark in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of new product development projects – from concept through to production – while playing a key role in maintaining and refining an existing product portfolio. The role: Designing and specifying new products, while supporting improvements to existing lines Creating production-ready designs and engineering drawings using Solid Edge (or SolidWorks) Conducting DFMEA and tolerance analysis to ensure reliability and manufacturability Collaborating with departments including Development, Production Engineering, and Purchasing Supporting cost reduction initiatives and improving product efficiency Managing BOMs and design documentation throughout the NPD lifecycle Working to project timelines, quality standards and ISO9001:2015 processes About you: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience Proven experience taking products from prototype to mass production Strong understanding of sheet metal design and manufacturing methods Skilled in Solid Edge (SolidWorks considered) and 2D drawing generation using GD&T best practice Experience with DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacture principles Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisation skills Flexible, proactive, and quality-driven approach Benefits: Electric vehicle lease and cycle to work schemes Flexi time policy Employee assistance program Generous staff discounts on their products Discounts for supermarkets, cinema tickets and gifts 2 day a week working from home policy where possible Enhanced holiday allowance To apply, please submit your CV via the Apply Now button or contact Shannon Bunch on shannon.bunch@hawk-3.com
