Plant Controller

I'm working with a regionally established and well-respected civil engineering contractor based in Bristol, who are currently looking to recruit a Plant Controller to support their growing operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in plant hire or machinery management , but they are also open to trainee-level candidates who are keen to learn and grow within the industry. The Role: As Plant Controller, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the hire and management of plant machinery across various projects, ensuring smooth communication with customers and maintaining up-to-date servicing and compliance records. Key Duties Include: Handling customer enquiries for plant and machinery hire (internal and external) Scheduling delivery, collection, and maintenance of plant equipment Managing service data, maintenance schedules, and breakdowns Ensuring all statutory checks and safety inspections are carried out on time Liaising with engineers, site teams, and suppliers Supporting general administrative tasks within the plant department Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in a plant controller or similar role (preferred but not essential) Strong organisational and communication skills Good IT skills and confident handling data and documentation A proactive approach and ability to multitask Familiarity with plant and construction equipment is an advantage What's on Offer: Opportunity to work with a reputable and growing civil engineering firm Supportive working environment with room to progress Full training for those new to the role Competitive salary package, depending on experience
