Job Description

Position Overview Our client is a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong portfolio in energy infrastructure, process systems, wastewater treatment, and industrial facilities . They are seeking an Intermediate Drafter to support a range of detailed design and drafting efforts focused on mechanical systems, process piping layouts, and equipment arrangements . This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled drafter who enjoys working on complex mechanical systems in a collaborative consulting environment. The role offers exposure to a variety of project types, with additional opportunities to contribute to cross-discipline design work. Further Responsibilities Include the Following Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical and piping models using AutoCAD or other 2D/ 3D design tools Create fabrication-level drawings for mechanical systems, process piping, equipment layouts , and pipe supports Interpret engineering markups, design notes, and P&IDs to generate accurate technical drawings Revise and maintain drawings in accordance with client standards and project-specific requirements Collaborate closely with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated project delivery Conduct drawing reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with industry standards Ideal Candidate Requirements 4 years of experience in mechanical and process piping drafting within engineering consulting or industrial environments Diploma in CAD Technology, Mechanical Design , or a related discipline from a recognized technical institution Proficient with AutoCAD , or other related softwares. Strong understanding of mechanical layouts, pipe routing, and fabrication drawing development Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and equipment specifications Well-developed communication and coordination skills to work effectively with project teams Valid BC driver’s license and ability to travel to client or project sites when required Assets That Will Set You Apart Experience with multidisciplinary projects involving structural, civil, or electrical components Knowledge of electrical schematics, foundation detailing, and structural steel layouts Ability to work independently and manage drafting tasks across multiple projects A proactive and flexible attitude toward learning new drafting tools and adapting to project needs Why This Firm Work with a collaborative and technically strong team across mechanical, process, and infrastructure projects Access to a diverse project portfolio with opportunities for cross-training and professional development Supportive work environment that values work-life balance, flexibility, and employee growth A culture of respect, transparency, and continuous learning , with leadership that invests in its people
