Production Supervisor

Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily production activities, ensuring efficient and safe operations, and leading a team of production staff to achieve production targets and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning and Scheduling: Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer demands, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime. Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and coaching to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge. Quality Control: Ensure production meets quality standards, implementing quality control measures and procedures to prevent defects and improve product quality. Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to safety regulations and procedures, and promoting a culture of safety among production staff. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, implementing changes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Communication: Communicate effectively with production staff, management, and other departments, ensuring smooth operations and resolving issues promptly. Performance Monitoring: Monitor production performance, analysing data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas for cost reduction. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot production issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure production targets are met. Requirements: Education: Qualification in a relevant field, such as production management, manufacturing, or engineering. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a production environment, with supervisory experience Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively, Knowledge of production planning, quality control, and safety procedures. Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as lean manufacturing or quality management, are an advantage Performance Metrics: Production Targets: Meet or exceed production targets, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime. Quality Standards: Maintain high-quality production, adhering to quality standards and procedures. Safety Record: Ensure a safe working environment, with minimal incidents and accidents.
