Software Support Engineer

This position is a remote position to work from Mexico. You will be working as a consultant directly with clients US Clients. We offer: 100% Remote Work $20 to $28 USD per hour Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Support Engineer with a strong foundation in Java or Python, SQL, and Unix. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing L2/L3 support for mission-critical applications, ensuring high availability and performance while investigating and resolving technical issues efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Provide application support and maintenance for Java or Python based platforms. Troubleshoot issues related to SQL queries, stored procedures, and data integrity. Monitor and manage Unix/Linux environments; perform root cause analysis. Collaborate with development and QA teams to escalate and resolve defects. Ensure timely resolution of support tickets within SLAs. Document known issues, troubleshooting steps, and best practices. Automate recurring tasks and enhance support processes through scripting. Required Skills: Proficiency in Core Java and object-oriented programming. Strong hands-on experience with SQL (preferably Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL). Good command of Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting. Experience working with application logs and performance tuning. Familiarity with issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a 24/7 support environment or shift-based support roles. Exposure to ITIL processes. Knowledge of job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Autosys) is a plus.
