Senior Technical Analyst

Job Title: Technical Analyst Senior Job Type: Contract Location: Remote in Mexico Overview: Provides application and/or infrastructure technical expertise, analysis and specifications for IT systems to meet business requirements in accordance with IT architecture policies and standards; translate requirements into technical specifications, create detailed solution design, coordinate construction, installation, configuration and testing of IT systems; and identifies, troubleshoots and resolves system technical issues. Responsibilities: • Understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications for Research Computing. • Assists in creating and managing the technical specifications from which programs and configurations will be applied to create the application, infrastructure or complete solution • Business Process Knowledge of assigned areas and functions. • Assists in technical analysis of potential solutions including evaluating the technical fit and viability of commercial-of-the-shelf products versus custom built solutions for Research & Technology. • Delivers solution design, adhering to standards and leveraging re-use of components. • Assists in creating high level and detail design of infrastructure or applications, interfaces, conversions, extensions, reports, and workflows while meeting architecture, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability requirements. • Assists technical and infrastructure groups in understanding the solution design and specifications. • Works closely with IT technical service providers to ensure outsourced work packages are delivered to specifications, meeting key parameters of quality, schedule, cost, security, performance, and scalability. • Participates in formal design reviews and code reviews (where applicable) to ensure the detailed design specifications have been understood and coding standards have been adhered to by the development team(s). • Leverages re-usability of component designs to reduce costs and shorten time to deliver Research & Technology solutions and or use cases. • Assists in the Research & Development Test Strategy and execution of master test plan as well as the Traceability Matrix. • Provides level 3 support for critical issues. • Work with Engineering to design, develop, and implement solutions for Research & Technology teams • Monitor and facilitate activities for development, enhancement, and continuous improvement of Research and Technology projects. • Understanding of applications development environment, database, data management, and infrastructure capabilities and constraints. • Work with Engineering to build and maintain repository for process and system deliverables Qualifications: • 3-5 years of IT experience working on a variety of customer engagements • Understanding of applications development environment, database, data management, and infrastructure capabilities and constraints. • Effective Verbal and written communication skills • Project management experience preferred • Customer service focused with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information • Able to multitask, work under pressure, and adapt quickly to changes in the Research and Technology environment • Attention to detail and adaptivity to requirement changes • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, to take initiative, and to work independently • Proven ability to identify and provide solutions for problems through statistical and logic-based analysis • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills in conjunction with the ability to prioritize and handle special tasks simultaneously • Willingness to travel up to 5% Education: • Bachelor's Degree
