The Opportunity: Our client is searching for an Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in scaling and unifying their infrastructure processes, with a focus on AWS-based platforms. Depending on experience, this role could align with Mid-level, Senior, or Staff Engineer titles. The position involves working in a hybrid model to support the organization's operational needs and infrastructure improvements. Please note: The successful candidate must reside in Edmonton and be available to work from the Edmonton office three days per week . What You’ll Do: Proactively monitor, remediate, and enhance production environments for customer-facing applications Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support critical operations Contribute to Kubernetes migrations and infrastructure optimization initiatives Design and implement self-service tools to empower development across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and maintain resilient distributed systems Champion infrastructure-as-code principles and promote automation throughout all platform layers Core Requirements: 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in infrastructure engineering or a related field Proven expertise with: AWS (production environments) Kubernetes (in production) Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) Experience supporting production applications, authoring incident responses, and designing monitoring strategies Bonus Skills: Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) Proficiency in Linux systems administration Familiarity with database operations and basic SQL knowledge Programming proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages Experience with REST API design or API Gateways Exposure to event streaming/message buses and automation platforms (e.g., Ansible) Soft Skills: Willingness to contribute equally to both new and legacy systems, as well as operational responsibilities Comfortable with learning and problem-solving in a public and collaborative setting Strong composure under pressure, particularly during production outages Excellent teamwork through documentation, knowledge sharing, and communication A mindset of continuous improvement and process optimization What’s Offered: Flexible hybrid working model Fast-paced and growing environment with opportunities for professional growth Exposure to cutting-edge technologies in a setting that encourages innovation Engagement with mission-critical data driving real-world operations Comprehensive Benefits Package: Retirement savings plans with matching contributions Health benefits (medical, dental, vision) Employee assistance program Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts Life insurance coverage Paid time off There’s even more to discover—let’s talk about how your skills and ambitions align with the opportunities offered by this role!
