Job Description

To design, develop and implement manufacturing processes considering tools, equipment, layout, facilities and systems to create safe and quality product with a competitive cost and optimum performance. To create and document process standards and work instructions, focused mainly on production support. Analyzes data from manufacturing processes related to time studies, layouts, etc. and continuously improves process performance in safety, quality, cost, etc. Improve production processes safety, with the best product quality and delivery working at the optimum operational cost. Essential duties Leads PFMEA core team. Updates MWIs for current production. Validates and upgrades current error proofing. Leads APQP implementation. Executes tasks and activities for PPAP. Has some knowledge of requirements for ISO. Executes DFM, DFT, DFA analysis. Can calculate CPK. Able to open and create medium size projects. Open and use 3D modeling features. Can develop a modify 2D Layouts. SAP Consults tables and queries. Knows requirements for equipment and can suggest and look for improvements in automation designs. Develops a Production system design and assess tooling required and validates new equipment. Executes activities coming from VSM workshops. Has knowledge and experience of kanban. Can calculate kanban levels with tools and design a kanban. Has knowledge of lean tools, broad improvement experience. Designs layout for minor process changes. Calculates std hours for current processes. Assesses reals vs calculated line balancing. Calculates Manning required for his assigned area. Calculates Capacity hours for current processes. Determines equipment location and layout in his area of responsibility looking for best option considering manufacturing flow, material handling and ergonomics. Coordinates projects in his assigned area of responsibility. Changes SAP material master information to support production in engineering inputs. Lead and innovate processes for problem solving activities related to downtime, quality or safety issues by analyzing BOMs, interpreting drawings, engineering specifications. Coordinates activities for NPD projects under supervision of Sr. Engineer. Validate new or modified parts in manufacturing process with control runs or other tools for the CQP and PPAP process. Implement productivity projects related to labor, overhead and material through engineering tools and/or process automation opportunities. Assess Operational Safety Risks and creates Job Safety Analysis (ASTs) and Safety Practices for the manufacturing process Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in industrial, Mechatronic or Mechanic Engineering. Intermediate English proficiency Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience Other: · Intermediate English proficiency
