Position Summary: Data Engineering Excellence Lead: (Director, Data Engineering_Portfolio_G6_EDAA0896) The Director of Data Engineering Excellence is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of enterprise-scale data products, aligning engineering efforts with business goals and technical standards. This role leads strategic initiatives across data engineering, driving innovation, governance, and advanced platform modernization. It requires a blend of leadership, architectural foresight, and deep technical acumen to elevate data engineering capabilities across the organization. Who were looking for: Primary Responsibilities: Strategically oversee data product development to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical roadmaps. Drive innovation in data engineering practices to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-impact data solutions. Lead, mentor, and coach multiple teams of data engineers, fostering collaboration and cross-functional knowledge sharing. Ensure adherence to data governance standards and regulatory compliance through robust design and operational practices. Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate them into the data engineering strategy to continuously enhance capabilities. Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to define and implement functional strategies within the data engineering sub-function. Promote operational excellence and process improvement across the data engineering landscape. Skill: Provides strategic leadership for data engineering and modern data platform initiatives 12 years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Proven track record of leading large-scale data engineering projects and cross-functional teams Proficient in modern data technologies and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Strong background in architecture, governance, and security of distributed data systems Exceptional planning and stakeholder management skills, with ability to translate business goals into technical solutions Masters degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred Demonstrated ability to foster innovation, scale engineering capabilities, and drive enterprise-wide impact Must Have skills: API Management Cloud computing (GCP) CI/CD/CT Data Architecture, Data Ingestion, Transformation Data Modelling, Data Quality Data Security & Privacy, Data Warehousing, Data Workflow Management, Database Design & Development Solution Design, System Integration Kafka Work location: Hyderabad, India Work hours: Work pattern: Full time role.
