Surface Mount Technician / Pick and Place Operator Portsmouth / £13.50 - £15.00 per hour (DOE) (Temporary to Permanent role) Full time: 40 hours per week Shifts: Monday to Thursday 07:15 15:30 & Friday 07:30 14:30 Wildwood Technical Recruitment is working with a growing electronics manufacturer in Waterlooville, who are on the lookout for a hands-on SMT / Pick and Place Operator to join their team. What Youll Be Doing: Setting up and programming machines Using machines to place components accurately on PCBs Using other SMT line equipment like screen printers and reflow ovens Following technical drawings and build instructions to ensure accurate assembly Performing basic quality checks and flagging issues early to avoid delays Keeping accurate notes and updates on production paperwork or tablets What Theyre Looking For: Experience using Pick and Place machines and working within an SMT production line Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and part lists Awareness of ESD controls, IPC standards, and ideally ISO9001/AS9100 Comfortable using basic PC or tablet software to track work Good computer knowledge A good team player with a keen eye for detail This role offers a stable working environment with consistent hours and a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
