Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 per year *A bit about us:* A newly funded fintech startup is on a mission to modernize how capital flows into physical-world assets—starting with early-stage mining opportunities. They are building a platform that blends deep geoscientific expertise with advanced AI models to identify high-upside projects faster and more accurately than traditional investors. You’ll partner directly with geoscientists to ingest messy, unstructured data—like satellite imagery, maps, and reports—and develop scalable pipelines and AI tools that surface actionable insights. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role ideal for a builder who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys working across the full stack of data infrastructure and AI, and wants to help modernize how investments are made in natural resources. Strong Python, ML deployment experience, and a passion for solving real-world problems are key. *Why join us?* * Salary: $200k - $300k (Higher end of the range reserved for folks with extensive experience (10 years)) * Equity: 3 - 5% * Growth Opportunity (CTO track) * Benefits, Relocation Sign On Bonus, Positive Culture, PTO, and much more! *Job Details* Responsibilities * Build and scale data infrastructure that ingests and processes unstructured geospatial and scientific data (PDFs, maps, satellite images, etc.) * Partner closely with geoscientists to turn messy raw inputs into usable AI/ML pipelines * Own model deployment end-to-end across NLP, geospatial, and computer vision applications * Work across the full stack—from cloud data engineering to inference pipelines and real-time data feeds * Develop applied AI solutions that create actionable investment insights in real-world scenarios * best practices and internal systems for data quality, scalability, and performance * Thrive in high-ambiguity, high-autonomy environments, with room to scale into a CTO/cofounder role Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field from a top-tier institution * Minimum 6 years of experience solving unstructured data problems and applying ML in production * Proficiency in Python and experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent) * Hands-on experience deploying AI models in production—especially in geospatial analytics, NLP, or computer vision * Familiarity with modern data infrastructure tools (AWS/GCP/Azure, Airflow, Kafka, Databricks) * Proven success working in ambiguous technical environments (startups, hedge funds, applied AI labs) * Demonstrated ability to translate noisy data into insights—ideally with experience in natural resources or real-world macro sectors * Strong written and spoken English; excellent communication across technical and non-technical teams Interested in hearing more?
