Job Description

We're seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join a growing team focused on commercial interior fit-outs and select ground-up projects in NYC. You'll be responsible for preparing detailed takeoffs, analyzing subcontractor bids, and supporting the preconstruction team in delivering accurate, timely estimates for some of the city's most exciting projects. *Client Details* The client is a highly regarded general contractor specializing in commercial interiors, with a portfolio spanning corporate headquarters, financial institutions, and creative office spaces across Manhattan. Their collaborative preconstruction process is a key differentiator, and their leadership invests heavily in employee development and mentorship. *Description* * Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for all divisions of work, with a focus on interior scopes * Solicit, level, and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure accurate coverage and scope alignment * Assist in developing budgets, cost studies, and value engineering proposals during the preconstruction phase * Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and clients to align estimates with site conditions and construction methodology * Maintain historical cost data and stay up to date on market trends, labor rates, and material costs * Participate in bid reviews and support final pricing recommendations for hard bids, GMPs, and negotiated proposals * Assist with scope writing and bid package development * Collaborate with the business development team on proposal content and presentation support *Profile* You are analytical, organized, and enjoy being part of a fast-paced, team-oriented preconstruction environment. You're comfortable working independently and confident presenting numbers to senior leadership and clients. *Qualifications:* * 3 years of estimating experience in commercial construction (interiors strongly preferred) * Strong knowledge of construction materials, trade scopes, and NYC subcontractor market * Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings * Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore Estimating, Excel) * Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines * Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interfacing with project teams and clients * Experience preparing both conceptual and hard bid estimates * Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred) *Job Offer* * Competitive base salary plus bonus potential * Full benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, and generous PTO * Opportunity to work on high-end interior buildouts with premier clients * Access to mentorship from senior estimators and preconstruction leadership * Growth path into Senior Estimator or Preconstruction Manager roles MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
