Job Description
Purpose of Role Responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures for low volume cable assembly manufacturing cell, leading productivity improvements with project-based activities, including new product introduction, improve quality and safety, new process introductions, new machine and tooling set up operational cost reductions. Responsibilities Creation of manufacturing drawings, process flows, work instructions, control plans, standard operating procedures, maintenance schedules, bill of materials, routings and other relevant documentation for the machinery and production processes. Provide operator training to ensure effective and safe use of equipment as well as adherence to the process and quality requirements. Oversee the installation and commissioning of new production line equipment, design new tools, jigs and testing equipment liaising with external vendors as required. Champion a safe working environment, adhering to both internal company procedures and legal requirements. Provide support for existing product lines and lead the production aspect of the NPI (New Product Introduction) process. Foster collaboration with various departments across the business, including external suppliers and contractors. Key Tasks Manufacturing drawing preparation. Standard Operating & Test procedures. Routing process flows. BOM structuring. Key contact for production line troubleshooting queries. Pre-production trails, serial production , quality issue resolution. Embed continuous improvement activities within our manufacturing operation using LEAN principles and techniques. Person Specification HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject. 3 years’ hands on experience in electronics engineering field preferably in cable assembly manufacturing. Overmould operation knowledge would be a strong advantage. Proficient at interpreting engineering drawings and AutoCAD. Strong self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, flexible and capable adapt to changing circumstances or priorities. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively. Attention to detail in planning, execution, and follow-through. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction. Decision-making skills, strong problem-solving skills. Visible commercial integrity, trustworthiness and respect for company and colleagues.
