Summer Casuals - Food Services Department: Accommodation, Catering, and Conferencing Employment Type: Temporary Location: Oxford Compensation: GBP 13.43 / hour Description The Kitchen and Food Services teams are busy and varied, they offer an excellent opportunity to join a progressive and innovative environment and be part of Jesus College life. The ethos of the Food Services Team is that it offers the highest customer service to all. The Kitchen and Food Services team are at the heart of catering in the College and their roles cover a broad spectrum of dining events including to College Fellows, students, staff and those who visit the College for conferences, summer schools, weddings, formal dinners and receptions. This key role in the Food Services Team enables the smooth delivery of all meals and events from layout, through service to finish. The position requires a passion for first class service, attention to detail and excellent communication skills to ensure the team's rapid response to diner's needs. The delivery of high quality of food and beverage service across the College is the motivation for this role. The post holder will facilitate communication between departments to allow diners access to all dietary information and to maintain Health and Safety standards. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic individuals to support our Front of House team serving meals to our Summer Schools and Conference customers as well as internal users. The work is varied as we look after our users' needs for food and drinks throughout our College premises in our Dining Hall, private dining rooms, our meeting rooms and the Café to name but the main ones. We are a very friendly team and whilst we aim to provide high levels of professional services at all times, we also value being able to enjoy our working times at Jesus College. No College experience necessary as full training will be given but some experience working in a customer facing environment would be an advantage. Casual hours depending on individuals' availability and our business needs as per an agreed rota. Morning shifts normally start at 7am till 3pm. Later shifts normally start at either 12noon, 1pm, or 2pm and finish at 7pm, 8pm or 9pm. Other hours can be considered. We run our operations 7 days per week so weekends are a part of our normal working week. We rotate shifts so everyone has days off each week which may vary from week to week. We have a range of hours available so we ask that you submit your availability in the attached form so we can match availability to our shift requirements. We can be very flexible in terms of which day a person works and how many hours they are looking for per week. Please complete the attached form to advise of what your availability is .
