Field Sales Representative

Permanent Field Sales Representative required for Builders Merchants Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Field Sales Representative to join our team at a leading Builders Merchants. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with contractors, construction professionals, and trade clients across a defined territory. You will act as the face of the company, promoting our full range of building materials and services while delivering a high standard of customer service and support. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, including contractors, site managers, developers, and tradespeople Identify new business opportunities and generate leads through site visits, cold calling, and referrals Understand customer requirements and provide tailored product and service solutions Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery, accurate quotations, and stock availability Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies Provide expert knowledge and advice on products such as timber, roofing, plumbing supplies, and general building materials Attend on-site meetings and liaise with purchasing departments and site personnel Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and forecasts using the company CRM system Support branch promotional events and trade mornings where required Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the business Key Requirements: Proven field sales experience, ideally within the builders merchants, construction, or building materials industry Strong understanding of contractor needs and construction site operations Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills Full UK driving licence For further information contact Tanya Lyttle at GenTech Recruitment on Skills: Field Sales Representative builders merchants, construction Sales experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
