Principal Digital ASIC Design Engineer - Rotterdam A pioneering and well-funded engineering organisation is seeking a Principal ASIC Design Engineer to play a key role in developing high-reliability, space-grade systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to next-generation power and control systems built for extreme environments, including orbital and deep-space applications. This client is at the forefront of applying modern software-driven design approaches to advanced hardware development. As a Principal ASIC Design Engineer, you’ll have ownership across the full development cycle — from architecture through verification — working on complex digital systems tailored for radiation-hardened, mission-critical environments. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Proven experience in 5 successful tapeouts Proven expertise in RTL design using Verilog and/or VHDL. Solid understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL to GDSII. Hands-on experience with FPGA tools and flows (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or similar). Familiarity with simulation and verification tools (e.g., ModelSim, VCS, SystemVerilog, UVM). Experience with synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), and logic equivalence checking. Ability to read, understand, and contribute to system-level design specifications. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
